Their wedding was short and sweet, but big on emotion.
You ever feel an instant connection when you walk in on a group of strangers? That’s kind of how it was. We did email back and forth before the big day, but Jessica, her mom and others around here were welcoming and so helpful. She put on her veil expertly, like she’d practiced this many times before. When she saw herself in the mirror, she was overcome.
“I’m getting married today.”
She tried to hold back tears but some escaped and it was beautiful. Everything came together and everything became real.
In the groom’s room, there were smiles for days. Zachary got ready quickly with the help of his dad, chuckling at the banter they shared.
Their ceremony was officiated by Zachary’s grandfather, so it was particularly poignant. Even he couldn’t hold back tears toward the end of the ceremony. His grins after pronouncing them man and wife were priceless, though!
They opted to have a quick cake cutting and a toast from Jessica’s dad to close out their celebration. Nothing like sweets and sweet words to finish their Best Day Ever!
