Cristina and Brandon’s wedding at the Driftwood Texas venue’s Meadow Barn
Let’s be frank: we kind of really like this venue because it’s really close. But we *love* this venue because of the couples that it attracts. Sweet, down-to-earth couples like Cristina and Brandon.
They met like many couples do, bumping into each other at school in Dallas. They went on a few dates then Brandon moved back to San Antonio. For a year or so, they stuck together and made the weekend San Antonio/Dallas drives to see each other. It was clearly worth it and clearly love that kept them going in spite of the distance.
Brandon proposed to Cristina while they were on a trip on the West Coast. One of their stops was in San Francisco at Baker Beach with a view to the Golden Gate Bridge. After convincing a passer-by to take a photo of them, Brandon, unbeknownst to neither Cristina nor the conscripted passerby, chose that moment to pop the question. It was a great relief to him when she said yes! They celebrated by hanging out there to watch the sunset then taking the rental car on a joyride through the city’s mostly emptied streets followed by a stop at Fisherman’s Wharf, pizza and late night bookstore browsing.
How can you not love their story?
They picked Wildflower Barn based on online reviews (same way they found us). Their ideal wedding venue would have great Texas Hill country vibes and a beautiful outdoor ceremony setting. The venue’s Meadow Barn definitely has all that! It also appealed to them because they allowed couples to bring in their own decor and vendors (subject to venue approval, naturally) so they could get creative. And get creative they did! Everything was very personal, from their custom backdrop to the welcome table that featured favorite stuffies and almanac full of their travel photos that doubled as a guest book.
Wildflower Barn’s outdoor space comfortably fit all of their guests and even had some room to spare. The twinkle lights that adorn the whole space and all the gorgeous trees mean that decorating can be simple and personal. And beautiful.
