It’s so great to reconnect with friends who you haven’t seen in a while, isn’t it? Cheli’s family moved away from Austin a few years ago so I only got to “see” them through social media. It was so awesome to get a note from here recently asking about wedding photography. We said yes and then I got to be their Austin engagement photographer! So cool!
This because the opportunity to meet AZ, too. He is so sweet and they are clearly a great team together. Are we anxious to photograph their wedding in Corpus Christi next year? Resoundingly, yes! It will be absolutely sweet because it will be so personal. AZ’s dad will be the officiant and those attending will be friends and family. And we love that!
Speaking of personal, Cheli made a quilt for AZ and they brought it to include in their engagement photos. I am always in awe of people who quilt: it’s such a labor of love so you can’t help but appreciate what goes into such a craft. Their friend, Brandi of Today, Tomorrow, Always Engraving made them a plaque that they brought to the session and also plan to have at the wedding. So many little details that not only speak about their story as a couple but also how much love surrounds them. God is so good!
As if all those personal elements were not enough, the sky at sunset was an unexpected show. Here I was, a little bummed that we had not scattering of clouds but that proved to be a silly feeling. The sky went from pink to peach to blue—pretty amazing, I think!
Pretty awesome: managing to avoid stepping in any fire ant mounds. Seriously, I tend to do that even though I’m usually pretty vigilant about checking places where I ask people to stand. Clumsy girl problems, right?
So do you or someone you know plan on getting married and are looking for an Austin wedding photographer? Let’s get in touch! For any wedding that’s six hours or more, we always include a complimentary engagement session. It’s a great way for us to get to know you more (and it’s nice to have those photographs to tell a part of your story).
