Shannon & Ian’s Pittsburgh Destination Wedding ~ Mercedes Morgan Photography

Weddings

A post full of firsts. First time to shoot a destination wedding. First time going East. First time staying at in town while a major body-building convention was happening. Yadda, yadda, yadda…lots of firsts. New, fun, different challenges = awesome.

Bigger deal: getting to be with two people who were so giddy to be married. I bet their faces hurt from all the laughing and grinning and happiness that they enjoyed that day. Two people who treated us like family and welcomed us so, so warmly. Two people who actually wanted their photo taken while they were eating on their wedding day. Seeing all kinds of neat random things happen–including seeing my dream car in person–and the explanation was: “That’s Pittsburgh!”

I like Pittsburg.

P.S. – That PPG building throws around amazing light like there’s no tomorrow. And we have to go back so we can all try something from Primanti Bros.

We were treated to a trolley ride past the church where the wedding was supposed to take place. The church was closed down two weeks before the big day. No one was too worried. They found another church and it was just as lovely and in a perfect spot. We have the best, super-laid back clients.
