Beaumont, Texas. I had no idea what was out there. And this was the farthest east I’d ever been in the U.S. Neither of these facts really matter much except to the highly suppressed travel bug in me. I had been asked to help cover a wedding for a fellow photographer, so I gladly did. Her brother was the groom so she and her husband wanted to get to enjoy the wedding instead of work.
Thing is this: when a bride is so crazy excited about her groom and about getting married and they’re so in the moment, well, it’s not really work, you know? Being immersed in the busy-ness and hearing the squeals of laughter from the kids and watching the moms and dads loving their son and daughter with their eyes…it’s bliss.
Thanks to Jessica and Dave of Houston’s J&D Productions for asking me to help shoot this great wedding. You guys have a great family! Also, props to Jessica of Mair Images Photography who hung out and shot with me. Jessica: you are a trooper, first class.
